A luxurious tropical paradise in the western Philippines has opened for business but with a hefty price tag.

For USD 100,000, Banwa Island is among the most expensive resorts in the world where one can enjoy white sand beaches, deluxe villas, and plenty of amenities. The resort features six villas and additional suites and can accommodate up to 48 people at a time.

In order to get there, guests need to fly to the Philippines and to the province of Palawan. From Palawan, guests must hop on a helicopter or seaplane to get to Banwa Island.

Once there, forget your worries and relax on a hammock or sip cocktails at a bar. Each villa has its own infinity pool and hot tub and a team of chefs who will supply food and drink. Freshly caught fish and newly picked vegetables feature heavily on the menu.

Guests can also meet some of the endemic wildlife in the region, including sea turtles and tabon birds. The resort employs a wildlife expert on site. Other amenities include a tennis court and a short golf course, plus access to a variety of boats. Guests can also enjoy jet skiing, scuba diving, sailing and kayaking. At the end of a strenuous day, treat yourself in the resort’s spa.
