Christian Eriksen is considering staying at Brentford next season amid interest from his former club Tottenham Hotspur and Premier League rivals Leicester City.

It has led to his fairytale return for the Danish international team, following his cardiac arrest during the European Championship last year.

The attacking midfielder, however, only signed a short six-month deal with the Bees that expires in the summer.

It is believed he is now considering extending his stay with the Telegraph claiming Eriksen has already looked to live in the affluent west London district of Chiswick, which is just a short journey to Brentford’s Community Stadium.

Although the report suggest he is not expected to make any official decision until the summer with both the club and Eriksen seem keen to stay put – despite Spurs and Leicester showing interest.

Manchester United have also reportedly shown a previous interest and may also try tempt him away.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has previously said: ‘I don’t think it is any secret that, of course, we would like to continue.

‘I’m pretty convinced that Christian is enjoying it here. But [I’m] also convinced that nothing will be decided before the end of the season from either side, so I guess I’ll get a lot of these questions every Friday.

‘I think it is clear that we would like to continue with Christian.’

Eriksen has featured eight times for Brentford, of which they’ve only lost twice, proving what an impact he has had on Thomas Frank’s side.

He has also recently won his place back in the Denmark squad and has already targeted playing in the World Cup in Qatar this winter, which could potentially influence his decision on where he plays his club football next season.

Staying at Brentford under Frank would guarantee Eriksen a regular starting place in the Premier League, whereas moving back to Spurs would represent more of a risk with more attacking and midfield options at their disposal.

Eriksen said: ‘My goal is to play in the World Cup in Qatar. I want to play. That’s been my mindset all along.

‘It’s a goal, a dream. Whether I’ll be picked is another thing. But it’s my dream to come back. I’m sure I can because I don’t feel any different. Physically, I’m back in top shape.’
