Tottenham have now gone 314 days without a draw in a Premier League game… they are on course to be the first top flight side in 123 YEARS to go an entire season without one!

  • Spurs have not drawn this season in the league: 27 games, won 20, lost seven
  • As of Monday, it has been 314 days since Harry Kane and co shared the points
  • The last English top flight club to have a draw-less campaign was Stoke in 1896

Tottenham Hotspur’s 58-year wait for a league title may be set to continue – but this season they could break an even older record.

Spurs have not drawn yet this season in the Premier League – after 27 games, they have won 20 and lost seven.

As of Monday, it has been 314 consecutive days since Mauricio Pochettino’s team shared the points in a league fixture.

That came away to Brighton on April 17, 2018, when Chris Hughton’s Seagulls held Spurs to a 1-1 draw at the AMEX.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Burnley was the 30th straight Premier League fixture in which Spurs have either lost or won, but not drawn; 22 victories, eight defeats.

If Tottenham go the entire 38-game league season without a draw, they will be the first team since the 19th century to go through a top flight campaign without any of their matches ending level.

The last English top flight club to have a totally draw-less league campaign was Stoke City in 1895-96 – 123 years ago.

That Stoke team – managed by Bill Rowley, and with Tommy Hyslop banging in 21 goals that season – ended their First Division campaign with a perfectly balanced 15 wins and 15 losses from 30 games.

Stoke finished the season sixth in the 16-team league. Aston Villa were champions, while Small Heath – who later became Birmingham City – were relegated.

Other than ending the season without a league draw, Stoke’s campaign was also notable for the unusual transfer fee paid to Darwen for forward Alan Maxwell. Instead of money, the Lancashire club requested a set of wrought iron gates.
