Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho ready to unleash Harry Kane and Heung-min Son in must-win clash against Manchester United

Jose Mourinho is ready to unleash fit-again Harry Kane and Hueng-min Son as Tottenham lock horns against his former club Manchester United on Friday.

The duo were sidelined with hamstring and wrist injuries respectively when the coronavirus outbreak forced the Premier League season into a 100-day hiatus.

Now, two of Mourinho’s key men have regained fitness for the run-in and are ready to play against their rivals for a Champions League qualifying place.

Mourinho also said that Moussa Sissoko will face United but doubts remain over Giovani Lo Celso.

The Argentina international sustained an injury before the lockdown came in and has only recently returned to training. Dele Alli is also suspended for Friday’s match.

On Lo Celso, Mourinho said: ‘Because of the rules, his injury is not in need of surgery but needed daily treatment, close contact with physios and fitness coaches working with him, but that was not possible.

‘So two months he was injured but he couldn’t recover from it. When the training ground opened, and he started treatment, it was not enough to have him 100 per cent.

‘The last few days training, available tomorrow I think so. Tomorrow (Friday) we’re going to test if he is able to play.’

Mourinho also underlined his hope that Tottenham will agree a new contract with defender Jan Vertonghen that will last beyond the end of the season.

As it stands, Vertonghen’s contract only runs up until June 30.
