The St. Louis Cathedral …It is the seat of the bishop of the diocese of Port-Louis.Between 1752 and 1756,the first building was built , which soon fall apart, and then was hit by a cyclone in 1760. A new church collapses again in April 9, 1773 as a result of another cyclone. The result of a reconstruction in 1782, to another building soon ended in collapse. Subsequently, the building was restored in 1814 by Sir Robert Townsend Farquhar, the first British governor in Mauritius , until they appeared the same cyclone problems in 1819. Bishop James (Jacques) Leen was in charge of rebuilding the structure from 1930 to 1933, and a final restoration in 2005. #mauritius #vintage
