Super-agent Kia Joorabchian has launched an attack at Arsenal‘s past recruitment policy under Sven Mislintat, blaming the club’s former chief scout for a number of very expensive ‘cock-ups’.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Joorabchian denied having any undue influence over transfers at the Emirates before taking aim at Mislintat, who worked for the Gunners from 2017 to 2019.

The 49-year-old is known to have had close relationships with several members of Arsenal’s hierarchy, most notably with head of football Raul Sanllehi and technical director Edu, who have helped bring in a number of big signings in the past year.

David Luiz and Cedric Soares are among those who has joined the club during the past year, while Willian is set to become the next big name to join the club, after the Brazilian completed his medical with the Gunners on Thursday.

Another of Joorabchian’s clients, Philippe Coutinho, has also been linked with a move to the Emirates but the club insist the Brazilian is not a target of theirs.

Joorabchian has often been spotted in one of the directors’ boxes at the Emirates in recent months and has often spoken out on the club’s transfer policy.

His latest interview saw him defend his position while pointing the blame at Mislintat for past transfers.

Joorabchian said: ‘People forget about the previous guy, Sven. He made a bunch of, I don’t like to use the word, but, cock-ups with players he brought in at very, very large numbers.’
