GIS – 22 October, 2019: The first Edition of the Fédération Africaine Continental du Sport Universitaire (FASU) Badminton Universities Championship is being held in collaboration with the University of Mauritius (UoM) from 21 to 22 October 2019, at the UoM campus in Réduit.
FASU, which is the continental affiliate of the Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire, is responsible for the organisation and governance of competitions for University student athletes on the African continent.
The championship aims at providing all university athletes in Africa an opportunity to compete on the international scene. All African universities were encouraged to send teams to Mauritius for this very first of its kind event. It targets some 100 participants from African Countries, in the Indian Ocean region and from local Universities. The athletes will leave Mauritius for their respective countries on 25 October 2019.
