The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Maubarakahmad Boodhun, who was present on that occasion, commended the beneficiaries for their remarkable performance and added that the objective of the cash prize ceremony is to recognise and reward their efforts and performance as well as to encourage and support their sporting endeavours at international level.
He further spoke of the need to prepare the young generation by increasing their participation in competitions for the forthcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Thus, he urged citizens to rally and support local athletes and appealed to the latter to give their best during the competitions.
Speaking about the forthcoming Olympic Games that is, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024, the Permanent Secretary pointed out that the Ministry will give proper support and training to potential athletes to participate in these Games.

Volleyball:
African Nations Beach Volleyball Cup held from 23–27 Apr 2019 in Nigeria: Rs 72 000
Weightlifting:
African Senior Champ held from 23 -30 Apr 2019 in Egypt: Rs 270 000
Swimming:
