GIS– 22 May, 2019: The total number of registered fishers eligible for bad weather allowance stood at 1,934 as at December 2018, stated the Minister of Ocean Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries and Shipping, Mr Premdut Koonjoo, yesterday, in reply to a Parliamentary Question (PQ) at the National Assembly.

Minister Koonjoo underlined that the Bad Weather Allowance is a form of social aid to assist fishers who have not been able to go fishing due to bad weather conditions.
