Rafa Benitez could be tempted to hand record signing Miguel Almiron his full debut next weekend, despite him struggling to shine during their Costa Blanca friendly against CSKA Moscow.

Almiron was taken off at half-time with the score at 1-1, and that was how it stayed.

The £21million Paraguayan midfielder had been busy but Benitez knows the effect his inclusion could have on the crowd ahead of Saturday’s visit of Huddersfield.

‘It could be perfect if he starts,’ said Benitez.

‘It also could be perfect to play him in the last 10 minutes and score the winning goal. We will find a solution. We have time to train and decide.’

DeAndre Yedlin opened the scoring in the 16th minute before CSKA Moscow’s Abel Hernandez equalised four minutes later.
