Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khaleifi has insisted that PSG can keep hold of Brazilian superstar Neymar despite rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The Qatari club chief also added that the French champions’ relationship with Kylian Mbappe will be a long term one.

Real Madrid have courted both of PSG’s star names in recent times. The Spanish giants missed out on signing on Mbappe from Monaco in 2017 while rumours continue to swirl about their Neymar interest.

But Al-Khaleifi is adamant that both players have futures in the French capital.

‘Neither Real Madrid, nor any other club in the world, needs to call us about Neymar or any other player,’ Al-Khelaifi told Marca.

‘Real Madrid know perfectly well that Neymar is not for sale and that the player won’t leave PSG this summer.

‘We have a fantastic relationship with Neymar and his father and it is built to last a long time.’

Paris Saint-Germain remain on course to win yet another French title despite losing Neymar to a foot injury last month.

They defeated Nimes 3-0 on Saturday, a win that sees the club move 17 points clear of second place Lille – and they still have a further game in hand.

Mbappe netted twice to help secure the club’s 22nd victory of the season, a return that takes his goal tally in Ligue 1 to more than 50 goals – achieved at just 20 years of age.

And Al-Khelaifi heaped praise on the French league’s top goalscorer, insisting that he is in Paris for the long haul.

‘Kylian is already a club legend,’ added Al-Khelaifi.

‘What he has done at just 20 years of age, having won a World Cup and become one of the five best players in the world alongside Neymar, is exceptional. In Paris, everyone loves him, he is at home and he knows that he has everything he could want to make history at PSG.

‘The relationship between PSG and Mbappe is long-term because there is a very strong mutual trust.’
