Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Arsenal future ‘will depend on the club’s summer transfer plans… with the striker desperate for Mikel Arteta to sign Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele’
- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored both goals in Arsenal’s FA Cup final win
- The Gunners captain remained coy though on his future before lifting the cup
- But reports claim higher wages will not be enough to keep him at the Emirates
- Aubameyang dreams of the club signing former team-mate Ousmane Dembele
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang‘s future at Arsenal will depend on the club’s transfer activity this summer, according to reports in France.
The Gunners captain won his first trophy at the club after scoring both goals in Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup final victory against Chelsea at Wembley.
However, the 31-year-old refused to comment on his contract situation following the win – which also saw Mikel Arteta’s men qualify for next season’s Europa League – with the striker having just a year left on his deal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Arsenal captain reportedly dreams of seeing former team-mate Ousmane Dembele sign
Reports last month claimed the club were preparing to offer him a salary of around £250,000 per week as part of his new deal, but Le10Sport claim that increased wages and European football will not be enough to keep the Gabon star in north London, with the Gunners’ recruitment also at the centre of his concerns.
The report from the French outlet adds that Aubameyang is still hesitant to sign a new contract despite Saturday’s victory, and wants the club to heavily invest in the squad this summer.
It also adds that the Arsenal skipper dreams of seeing former Borussia Dortmund team-mate Ousmane Dembele sign for the Gunners this summer.

The striker however remained coy on his future when asked after the game at Wembley
The 23-year-old Barcelona winger has not played a competitive game since November and underwent surgery on his injured hamstring in February, but is understood to have an excellent rapport with Aubameyang.
The same outlet however claims that Dembele wants to fight for his place at Barcelona, while the club want to raise funds to secure the signing of Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.
But in a bid to satisfy Aubameyang, the report claims Arsenal are working on their shortlist for the summer that includes Dembele’s Barcelona team-mate Phillipe Coutinho, Dembele’s namesake and compatriot Moussa, as well as Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.
The outlet also claims Arteta has targets within the Premier League, including Wolves forward Raul Jimenez and Newcastle’s Allan Saint-Maximin.
