Three years in the planning, Qantas has finally unveiled a significant change that could benefit the airline’s millions of frequent flyer members.

Qantas has partnered with the Seagrass Boutique Hospitality company, which operates more than 40 restaurants and bars so that customers who dine at these venues can earn frequent flyer points.

You may get three points for every dollar spent at upscale establishments, including 6HEAD, Meat Wine & Co, and Hunter & Barrel.

On Wednesday, Bradley Michael, CEO and founder of Seagrass Hospitality Group, told reporters, “Anyone who is a member of the Qantas frequent flyer programme may earn and utilise points at all venue locations; around Australia.”

For its frequent flyer customers, Qantas has announced a huge agreement with Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group, allowing them to earn and utilise points at more than 40 venues.

Even if you’d rather eat in a more laid-back setting, you can still earn rewards at Ribs & Burgers and Italian Street Kitchen, where you’ll get two points for every dollar spent.

“In the restaurant business, it’s all about frequency,” Mr. Michael said. “The more often our customers visit our restaurants, the more loyal they become to us.

Because of the variety of people working with us, we can accommodate Qantas guests with a wide range of dining preferences, from the most formal to the most relaxed.

Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth has said the new alliance is responding to member demand for expanded point earning and redemption opportunities across various hospitality offerings.

Ms. Wirth remarked, “Hospitality and eating are absolutely at the heart of that because people are eager to get outside of their homes — they want to travel more, and they want to get back to engaging with others.”

In addition to travelling, she noted, food and wine are consistently among the top interests of Qantas members.

In the new tourism policy that is being drafted, tourism in Uttar Pradesh will get an industry status. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given his consent to the proposal, said official sources. The tourism sector can give a big boost to Uttar Pradesh’s economy and also work towards conservation of local art, craft, tradition and cuisine.

“A decision in principle to award industry status to tourism and hospitality sector has been taken and now an experts’ committee is weighing its pros and cons so that the best investor-friendly draft is put up for the state cabinet’s approval,” a government spokesman said.

“Power charges and taxes will come down significantly once tourism becomes an industry in Uttar Pradesh. This will also make land allotment easier for new projects in places like Varanasi which is very short of land for expansion,” said an official

Rajasthan has recently accorded industry status to its hospitality sector. Uttarakhand, Goa, Kerala have also taken the step. Industry players are of the view that the

Uttar Pradesh is a leading state in terms of tourism, with 109.71 million domestic tourists and 33,737 foreign tourists in 2021; and the kind of work that has been done in the state over the past few years, the “growth is bound to be remarkable”.

Citing an example of Varanasi, the spokesman said that over one crore pilgrims visited Kashi in the month of ‘Shravan’ which is ‘a breath-taking piece of data’.

They also said that the industry status to the tourism and hospitality sector will help in reviving the area which has suffered immensely during the pandemic years.

“Industry status will lower the input cost for revival of hotels and resorts which will prevent loss making entities from closure. Alongside, it will encourage subsisting projects to re-start,” said a member of the Uttar Pradesh hotels and restaurants association. The move will also facilitate development of heritage hotels and homestays, many of which do not move forward because banks put too many checks before awarding loans.

The two-day revenue and digital hotel training workshop program, specific to hotels and resorts, will be to be held for the first time in Phuket. It will be held from 14-15 September 2022, between 9am-5pm each day.

The course will be held in-person, led by four expert trainers onsite, and covers revenue management, digital marketing, and data analytics, which are now arguably the must-have core competencies for every modern hotelier, and will no doubt strengthen your ‘commercial acumen’ and professional value.

Trainers include David Nicolas the founder of Marketer4wellness; Sunny Yu the  president, HSMAI Thailand & director of sales and marketing Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach; Tamie Matthews the revenue & distribution support for the independent hotelier, HSMAI advisory board member and certified trainer in revenue & distribution and Jackie Douglas the president, HSMAI Asia Pacific & global chair, HSMAI Academy.

Templates will be provided, and attendees will be building a marketing strategy for their own hotels during the workshop.  So, the attendee can tangibly prepare for 2023 during the workshop with the direct 1:1 assistance from  experts. Also, once the online modules are completed, the individual can gain the Certificate of Revenue Optimisation (Hospitality) from the globally recognised hospitality institution HSMAI Academy.

The aim of this training is to raise the level of knowledge and professionalism of the owner/operators, hotel managers and other marketing and revenue hospitality professionals. The result should be improved performance for hotels.

L’escroc peut connaître votre numéro de compte, le nom de votre conseiller… Mais quel que soit le nombre d’informations qu’il possède, ne lui en fournissez pas de nouvelles.
