Siddha Wellness Village: The ultimate staycation to detox the mind, body and soul

The concept of wellness has become more holistic and inclusive now. Post the pandemic, escaping the stress of daily life, connecting with nature, and feeling rejuvenated are no longer things that we are wishing for but things on our weekly must-do lists.

An ever-increasing number of travellers are seeking wellness-based amenities with a focus on fitness, nutrition, and holistic experiences. Add to this the trend of staycation which has grown manifold.

Setting a wellness mark

The Global Wellness Institute has projected the wellness travel market will reach $919 billion, representing nearly 20 percent of global tourism. The wellness tourism market is slated to grow at an average annual rate of 7.5 percent by 2022. This means wellness facilities, spas, and alternative medicine centres will see an uptick in visitations and requests, reflecting the pent-up demand for wellness services as the pandemic eases.

As staycations and wellness become the buzzword of the year, an increasing number of wellness retreats have joined the bandwagon to redefine wellness, far away from the chaos of cities. These retreats are incorporating fitness classes, yoga sessions, and spa experiences to allow guests to unwind and relax.

Wholesome wellness

So, reclaiming the lost calm, and reconnecting with a quieter, calmer way of life has just got a tad easier. Joining the ranks is Siddha Wellness Village with its balance of hospitality and alternative wellness therapies. From handpicked blend of ancient oriental wellness therapies and organic farming to private home theatre, the sprawling Siddha Wellness just 40 kms away from Delhi glows bright with possibilities for the ultimate wellness staycation.

Talking about the USP of the property, Minu Singh, founder of Siddha Wellness Village said: “At the root of it all, we are aiming to return to the fundamental belief that our bodies are capable of self-healing given the right guidance and atmosphere. Siddha Wellness Village is a health and wellness centre to promote respect for life that we have lost somewhere along the way.”

Talking about how Siddha has positioned itself in the weekend getaway space in Delhi, she added: “For urban individuals who are looking for a getaway to break the monotony of their routine life, the wellness staycation resort is curating holistic wellness experiences. We concentrate on preventive healthcare. The anxiety and stress due to Covid-19 can be resolved with staycations. Here, our focused staycations offer the essence of these holistic therapies and wellbeing.”

Being one with nature

Offering a close-to-nature experience for its guests, spending time at Siddha comes easy. You can be one with nature as you listen to the birds, walk through the farms, breath the fresh air, smell the flowers in its gardens or pat the farm animals.

Perched on the first floor, the rooms at the property offer panoramic views of lush green garden. The rooms also feature open and furnished patio, perfect to relax over morning coffee or evening snacks.

A significant aspect of the stay here is its nutrition protocol. Interestingly, Siddha’s kitchen consists of everything organic and homegrown in its farms at the property. Most of this produce ultimately makes it to the guest’s plates.

Another favourite is Siddha’s Ayurvedic therapies. The therapists can customise total-health stays that include yoga, massage, and nutrition, based on each individual’s body type.

Mornings can begin with a quick yoga session with the resident yoga instructor, followed by breakfast. Guests can then head for their massage treatments, unwind in the garden or go for a quick dip in the pool.

United States and air travel

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg

It’s about to get easier for Americans to find out what compensation is due when a flight is cancelled or delayed.

The US Department of Transportation (USDOT) is creating a new interactive “dashboard” where travellers will be able to find “easy to-read, comparative summary information on the services or amenities that each of the large US airlines provide when the cause of a cancellation or delay was due to circumstances within the airline’s control”.

That is the wording of a letter by Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg sent to all US airlines last Thursday.

Existing USDOT rules require airlines to offer customers refunds if their flights are cancelled for any reason, but policies on delays can be obscure, even though the information is required to be part of a federally mandated Customer Service Plan.

“When passengers do experience cancellations and delays, they deserve clear and transparent information on the services that your airline will provide, to address the expenses and inconveniences resulting from these disruptions”, Buttigieg wrote.

The consumer dashboard is expected to be live on the USDOT’s Aviation Consumer Protection webpage by the end of August.

Nearly a quarter of domestic flights were delayed and just over 3% were cancelled in the first half of this year, according to Secretary Buttigieg.

The USDOT is currently seeking public comment on when airlines should be required to refund passengers whose flights are cancelled or delayed.

“We are also contemplating options for rulemaking that would further expand the rights of airline passengers who experience disruptions”, Buttigieg wrote. “The Department asks that airlines, at a minimum, provide meal vouchers for delays of 3 hours or more and lodging accommodations for passengers who must wait overnight at an airport because of disruptions within the carrier’s control”.

‘The Black Mamba lives on’: Kyrie Irving remembers Kobe Bryant on the day the late NBA star would have turned 44… and just minutes after Kevin Durant emulated the Lakers legend by walking back Nets trade request

  • Nets star Kyrie Irving paid tribute to ‘big brother’ Kobe Bryant on his birthday
  • The Los Angeles Lakers great died in 2020 and would’ve been 44 today
  • The tribute came just after the Nets and Kevin Durant agreed to ‘move forward’
  • Bryant once requested a trade from the Lakers, before winning two more rings
  • ‘I miss you so much’: Vanessa Bryant shares tribute to late husband Kobe

Kyrie Irving took to Twitter to remember the late Kobe Bryant Tuesday, on the day the Lakers legend would’ve been 44 years old, joining a chorus of fans who also paid tribute.

Irving, considered one of the best scorers in the league, looked up to Bryant as a mentor, and left a heartwarming message for his ‘big brother’ on the third birthday since his death.

‘Love you Big brother @kobebryant,’ Irving wrote.

‘I love you and miss you so much!’: Vanessa Bryant wished her late husband Kobe Bryant a happy birthday Tuesday, marking the day the late basketball star would have turned 44

‘Happy Solar Return, and [cheers] to you. You and all the angels celebrate up in Paradise!

‘The Black Mamba lives on …..’

Bryant died on January 26, 2020 when a helicopter he was riding along with eight others – including his daughter Gianna – crashed in Calabasas, California.

Bryant and the other passengers were headed to Gianna’s basketball game at his Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks, California.

Everyone on board died.

Fans of the five-time NBA champ also flooded social media with kind words, with a tribute from the official NBA Facebook page eliciting fond memories of the all-time great.

‘Miss him so much! A legend taken from this world way too soon,’ one fan said.

Another added: ‘Husband fought cancer for five years before losing his battle. Watching the Lakers and [especially] Kobe was good therapy for him and a great time for us to spend together. Kobe’s fighting spirit remains an inspiration to us all.’

Bryant’s widow Vanessa also commemorated the special day, posting a picture of the pair on Instagram and writing, ‘Happy birthday, baby! I love you and miss you so much! #44 [heart emoji].’

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant will continue to play together after a tumultuous offseason

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant will continue to play together after a tumultuous offseason

Irving’s homage to Bryant came not long after the Nets released a statement on behalf of general manager Sean Marks saying Kevin Durant and the team had agreed to ‘move forward with our partnership’ less than two months after he requested a trade from the team.

The latest development in the Durant saga bears a resemblance to Bryant’s trade request in 2007, one which the Lakers ultimately did not grant before he won an MVP in 2008 and two championships between 2009-10.

In a stacked Eastern Conference featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, a young but extremely impressive Celtics team and the well-oiled Heat, Durant has his work cut out for him to replicate the full after-story of Bryant’s trade request.

But with four years left on his contract, he’ll certainly have a shot to do it.

Improve facilities at tourist spots in Karnataka to increase footfall: Bommai

The post Improve facilities at tourist spots in Karnataka to increase footfall: Bommai appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily.

Priority needs to be given to provide the basic amenities at all tourist spots to increase tourism to the state says Basavaraj Bommai the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Tourism plays a vital role in the state’s economic progress and promotion of culture. The tourism circuits of Mysuru-Belur-Halebeedu and Hampi-Badami-Aihole-Pattadakal must be developed. The Mysuru tourism circuit must be ready for inauguration during Dasara and the Hampi Circuit must be kept ready for an opening during Deepavali, the Chief Minister says. “These circuits must also include adventure sports and entertainment activities,” Bommai says.

He says he would write personally to all corporate companies about the monument adoption scheme. The Tourism Department must have perfect coordination with the Department of Industries and Commerce. Bommai says that he would also hold a meeting with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to discuss providing more facilities to tourists visiting the Badami caves and also to make it more attractive.

To promote environment-friendly tourism in the coastal area, the state government has already submitted a proposal to the Central government to simplify Coastal Regulation Zone and trying to get approval. This would help in the promotion of tourism in the coastal area. Steps have been taken for the revival of Bidar and Kalburagi forts, and even the Surpur Fort must be included in this work.

There are 400 registered tourist guides in the Department of Tourism who are paid a monthly honorarium of Rs 2000 each. Arrangements are being made to provide training for improvement in the communication skills at Hampi University. The officials were also instructed to start the tourism circuit of Peacock Sanctuary, Baada Palace, Stone Park, Folklore University Exhibition, Shishuvinahala and Savanur in the Haveri district.

The existing tourism website must be redesigned with mode details, user-friendly features, and also the audit of Tourism Department assets in order to make them revenue generating,” he concludes. The Chief Minister says waterways must be created in Kali River, Almatti and Cauvery River areas and submit a proposal for the development of tourism.

Provide facilities for tourists near 10-12 lakes in the State and steps to promote trekking since it would attract not only foreign tourists but also local tourists. Parks can be developed on the dam sites of Hidkal, Kabini and Gorur Reservoirs.

Ryan Air Axes EUR10 Flights

The post Ryan Air Axes EUR10 Flights appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily.

The CEO of Ryanair, Michael O’Leary, announced that the airline’s trademark low-cost flights, which cost between € 1 and €10, would no longer be offered.

O’Leary said we would not see our cheap promotional fares like the one euro fare, the €0.99 fare, or even the €9.99 fares for several years.

The chief executive officer of the airline said that rising prices for both fuel and labour, as well as rising passenger demand, were to blame.

“We believe travel by air will continue to be very popular”. However, O’Leary believes that people will become more price sensitive, and as a result, he believes that millions of people will trade down in the near future.

Compared to 2019 costs, airfares across Europe have increased by over a third.

While O’Leary blames demand, he blames Brexit for the price hikes.

After Boris Johnson’s resignation as prime minister of the United Kingdom, Ryanair’s chief executive officer said that Johnson and “other ambitious idiots” were to blame for the country’s unfavourable working conditions.

O’Leary said on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, “If there were much more honesty, or any honesty, from Boris Johnson’s government, they would come out and declare that Brexit has been a disaster for the free movement of labour and one of the fundamental issues being faced by the UK economy.”

Many airlines are on strike and cancelling flights due to a lack of employees because of the Covid 19 pandemic. Beginning from 8 August and continuing until 7 January 2023, Ryanair’s Spanish cabin crew is planning weekly strikes. But a representative for Ryanair said in a statement, as reported by Reuters, that the airline anticipates no disruption to its Spanish flights or schedules in August or September due to the current threats of strikes by a small number of its Spanish cabin crew.

Ryanair’s cancellation rate is much lower than that of its rivals. Compared to British Airways (3.5%) and EasyJet (2.8%), the low-cost carrier cancelled only 0.3% of flights in the first half of this year.

O’Leary boasted that his company was able to respond to the labour shortage more effectively than its rivals since it began hiring and training cabin and flight crews in November.
