My favourite breakfast items in one spread: a mash up of Mauritian and Chinese. With a few French sweet treats for good measure 🙌🇲🇺🇨🇳🇫🇷 Jackfruit curry, roti, lime pickle, mango pickle, upma (Tamil porridge made from dry-roasted semolina), glutinous sticky rice, char siu bao, congee with everything, egg noodles in chicken broth with boulettes de poisson (fish balls), fried eggs with green chillies and tomatoes, really great canelés made with local Mauritian rum, fruit and coffee 😋 Two of us cleared this lot and still had lunch 😏

We’ve now moved over to Trou d’Eau Douce on the west coast of Mauritius to the beautiful @shangrilamauritius 🇲🇺 And after a packed schedule of activities last week (don’t worry, I still have snaps to share!), we’re very much enjoying some real relaxation here 🧘‍♀️ Lots of bts in the Instagram highlight on my profile. Hands up to all my brothers and sisters who could happily eat curry for breakfast every day? 🙋🙋‍♂️🙋🙋‍♂️ More of a cereal person? I’m cool with that too 😁 [We’re here for a week and guests of the hotel for some of those nights – merci beaucoup! 🤗] #PersonalParadise
