1. Serenity, directed and produced by Steven Knight, was a highly anticipated movie that has been shot in Mauritius. The film stars renowned actors such as, Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Diane Lane, Jason Clarke, Djimon Hounsou and Jeremy Strong.
2. Tropical Heat or Sweating Bullets as known in the United States is a Canadian action series that aired from April 1991 to October 1993. Some of the sequences were shot in Mauritius.
3. One of the most popular movies, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hain” was partially shot in Mauritius. Cinephiles will remember the famous moment when the actress, Kajol, temporarily lost her memory when she fell face flat while cycling on a beach during the shooting. Moreover, the college shots were taken at the University of Mauritius.
4. There have been numerous times when Mauritius has been stated as Goa in Indian movies. The first zombie movie of Bollywood, “Go Goa Gone”, was shot in Mauritius. It is interesting to note that most of the ‘zombies’ were in fact local artists.
