Manchester United have announced midfielder Jesse Lingard will leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires next month, on the same day the Red Devils confirmed Paul Pogba would also be departing.
Lingard started his career with United and has been at Old Trafford for more than 20 years, but has become a peripheral figure in the last few seasons – going out on loan at West Ham United in the 2020-21 campaign.
He returned to United last season but failed to improve on his game time despite impressing at the London Stadium, starting just two times in the Premier League.
