The stars of Manchester United looked like men on a mission as they arrived for training on Friday ahead of Sunday’s mammoth Premier League encounter with Liverpool.

The Red Devils will look to continue their renaissance under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as they host their arch-rivals in what most consider to be the Dutchman’s biggest game since replacing Jose Mourinho.

And Solskjaer’s players seemed focused on the task at hand as they made their way into Carrington to put the finishing touches on their preparations for the showdown.

The likes of Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic had serious expressions on their faces as they drove into the training complex in their luxury cars.

Chris Smalling and Alexis Sanchez seemed somewhat more relaxed, sharing a smile and a wave respectively, while Brazilian midfielder Fred found time to stop and sign autographs.

United, who endured a difficult first half of the season, have climbed back into the top four under Solskjaer’s leadership, winning eight and drawing one of his nine Premier League games in charge.

However, they remain just one point ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal, who sit in fifth and sixth, meaning a result on Sunday is crucial.
