Leeds fans baffled by Erzgjan Alioski after the midfielder’s bizarre facial expressions at Burnley

Leeds United fans have been left baffled after Erzgjan Alioski’s rather bizarre facial expressions in the club’s 4-0 thrashing of Burnley.

The North Macedonia international went down under a challenge in the second half at Turf Moor and was approached by Dwight McNeil soon after.

But in a rather strange turn of events, Alioski – who had a huge hand in Jack Harrison’s goal – stuck his tongue out while he was helped to his feet before raising his hands above his hears and wiggling his fingers about.

It is not clear why Alioski was making the facial gesture. 

Fans of the Elland Road club were left rather perplexed as Marcelo Bielsa’s men closed the gap to Arsenal to two points.

One tweeted: ‘Don’t think I’ve done this face since I was in school! Alioski must have had a few skittles before the match! What a win though!!!!’

Another simply added: ‘Wtf lmfao Alioski is MAD and hilarious’, while another also left it short and sweet, stating: ‘That Alioski is a f****** lunatic.’

Others highlighted the childish element to it, with one user stating: ‘Alioski pulling the same face as my 8 year old when I ask him to do his homework.’

The 29-year-old is out of contract at Elland Road in the summer and reports suggest he will leave the club on a free transfer. Alioski was first linked with Turkish club Galatasaray during the January transfer window.

However, others were far less impressed with Alioski’s behaviour, which has also seen him wind up the likes of Manchester United winger Daniel James and Arsenal counterpart Nicolas Pepe, who was subsequently sent off, this season. 

One wrote: ‘Used to like Alioski until he acted like a big f****** baby today.’

Leeds cruised to victory at Turf Moor thanks to a double from Rodrigo, with Jack Harrison and Mateusz Klich also on target.
