At home the Chinese New Year is a public holiday marked by celebrations, fireworks, the Chinese dragon dance and not to forget the delicious baked goodies shared by friends and neighbours of the Chinese community.
It is only fitting for us to share a picture of one of the most popular Sino-mauritian dishes today: bol renverser (literal translation:upside-down bowl) or magic bowl).
In a bowl goes a fried egg, followed by a saucy chicken and vegetable stir fry and a finished with a layer of rice. The bowl is then turned onto a plate for the final reveal: tadaaa…
