JetBlue Airways crewmembers and Boston Bruins President Cam Neely were on hand Monday at Boston’s Logan International Airport to unveil the newest JetBlue sports team livery, the Boston Bruins-themed “Bear Force One.”

Invited guests and passengers alike were able to meet and interact with JetBlue executives and legendary former Bruins defenseman and now team president Cam Neely at the gate-side event at JetBlue’s home in Terminal C. Neely commented on JetBlue’s relationship with the Bruins, as well as his appreciation for the continued support of fans, the City of Boston, and the city’s police and fire departments.

“Bear Force One” is an Airbus A320 with tail number N632JB. The new special color scheme features a black fuselage with white lettering and a gold tail with the Bruins “spoked B” logo on it. Of course, Bear Force One is below the cockpit in the traditional JetBlue ship name location.

Recently painted over a 10-day stretch in Mobile, Alabama, the gold-and-black themed plane will fly the line just as the other A320s in the airline’s fleet do, potentially showing up at any Blue City that receives A320 service. Soon after the event, Bear Force One departed for Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), where the Bruins were set to play the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Bruins president and NHL Hall of Famer Cam Neely introduces the new livery.

There is a sense of pride and camaraderie among those who live and work in the greater Boston area, a feeling of community that is carried over into its sports teams, as well. As representatives of New England’s gateway to the world, Logan International Airport’s employees embody this spirit, a spirit that is understood and cultivated by the region’s sports teams. After the ceremony finished, Neely took time to meet and take photos with anyone who wanted to interact with him and wish the team well. The new livery reaffirms JetBlue’s commitment to Boston and New England, where they are Logan’s largest carrier in terms of passengers and nonstop destinations served, as well as the official airline of all four of Boston’s major sports franchises. Keep your eyes to the sky for the new bear in the air.
