Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman scored an extra-time winner to give them a nervous 3-2 victory at Hertha Berlin on Wednesday and a spot in the German Cup quarter-finals as the Bavarians bounced back from their weekend league loss.
The French winger, surrounded by three Hertha players, headed in from close range in the 98th minute, handing victory to Bayern who had dominated the encounter but somehow failed to win in normal time.
Hertha took a third-minute lead with their first effort on goal through Maximilian Mittelstadt but it was all Bayern after that as the visitors bossed the ball with 75 percent possession.
