Harry Kane is in contention to face Burnley for Tottenham at Turf Moor on Saturday after returning to training ahead of schedule.

The 25-year-old England captain injured an ankle in the defeat by Manchester United on January 13 and was expected to be out until March.

The ligament damage to his ankle was expected to keep Kane out for at least two months, meaning he would miss 11 games or more.

However, he has returned to Tottenham training after just over one month since his injury.

Despite their star striker’s absence, Spurs have still been performing well in the Premier League. However they did suffer defeats in both the Carabao Cup semi-final to Chelsea and the FA Cup to Crystal Palace during January.

In the league though, Spurs have been on a roll with wins over Leicester, Newcastle, Watford, and Fulham.

They also had an impressive 3-0 win against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 match last week.

With games against Chelsea and Arsenal in the league, as well as the return leg against Dortmund coming up, Tottenham will be hoping they can get Harry Kane back in action.

The Spurs and England striker has scored 14 goals and got four assists so far in 22 league matches this season. Plus, he scored four times in his six Champions League group games.
