A SIDEWAYS GLANCE: Harry Kane and his Tottenham team-mates wade in on the debate that is gripping social media: are there more doors or wheels in the world?
- The doors versus wheels debate has gone viral on social media this week
- Tottenham posted a video showing their players wading in on the discussion
- Captain Harry Kane and Matt Doherty said there are more doors in the world
- But Ben Davies and Son Heung-min disagreed, siding with the wheels argument
Turns out we might have been doing footballers a disservice.
How we bemoaned the demise of everyman heroes, troubled by the same anxieties as the rest of us.
The same big questions, too. The latest: are there more wheels or doors in the world?
Harry Kane went with doors in the doors versus wheels debate that has gripped social media
On Thursday Spurs provided a social media clip of life in their changing room, where the fires of debate raged.
‘Doors, for sure. Without question,’ Harry Kane said. Think of every cupboard, front and back door, he pointed out.
Matt Doherty wandered in. ‘Have you heard this?’ Kane asked the wing-back. Doherty soon pondered the puzzle with a blank stare.
Kane and Son Heung-min are in sync on the pitch, but the South Korean went with wheels
Defender Ben Davies pointed out: ‘There are a lot of wheels in the world.’
Doherty countered: ‘Think about all the offices around the world.’ Think of all the lorries and bikes, said Davies.
They canvassed one more. ‘Ooo,’ Son Heung-min said. ‘I’d say wheels.’ At least he and Kane are on the same page when the whistle blows.
