Grapefruit is an excellent fruit to include in your diet, not only during winter, but all year round.

It is low in calories and rich in many other nutrients.

1. Grapefruit and Diabetes
It has a low glycemic index and will therefore not impact blood sugar levels negatively.

2. Grapefruit and Blood pressure
The combination of Vitamin C. potassium and high fibre makes grapefruit an ideal fruit to help in controlling blood pressure levels.

3. Grapefruit and Gut Health
Grapefruit has a high water content as well as fibres. This helps to keep the digestive system healthy and prevent constipation.

Grapefruits also provide us with many other nutrients such as Vitamin A, Thiamine, Folate, Choline and Magnesium.

Many tend to associate grapefruit with weight loss. The high water and fibre content increases satiety levels and keeps you from eating at odd hours, thus indirectly helping to control weight.
However, bear in mind that it is not a miracle fruit and there is no one food item that causes weight loss.
