Gareth Bale‘s strained relationship with Real Madrid and the club’s fans hit a new low on Thursday night as the Welshman cut a petulant figure throughout their title celebrations.
The 31-year-old was once again an unused substitute for the 2-1 victory over Villarreal, a match that acted as a LaLiga procession following Barcelona‘s earlier defeat by Osasuna.
The newly-crowned champions were presented with the trophy after the match at the Estadio Alfredi Di Stefano, but Bale appeared in no mood to embrace the moment.

A video posted on the club’s Twitter page showed the entire squad gathering around the trophy, with Bale hovering at the back, to the left-hand side of the silverware.
Pulling a bemused face, he appeared to mock his team-mates with half-hearted attempts to copy their flailing arms in celebration.
Bale’s disdain for the situation was also clear as the player’s sought to pay tribute to Zinedine Zidane’s role in their triumph.
