Manchester United climbed up to fourth in the Premier League in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off with a comfortable 3-0 victory over struggling Fulham.

A brace from Paul Pogba and a solo strike from Anthony Martial helped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reach 10 wins from 11 matches since taking over as caretaker boss.

Sportsmail took a look at some of things you may have missed from a busy afternoon at Craven Cottage.

Solskjaer shines in front of the bosses

If this victory proved to be another checkpoint on the road to getting the job permanently for Solksjaer then he couldn’t have had a better audience.

As well as executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, United owner Avram Glazer was also in attendance as they weigh up who will become the new permanent manager.

The boardroom bigwigs were pictured in conversation before kick-off and they would have had plenty to discuss during the 90 minutes as their caretaker eased to yet another three points.

United now have more Premier League wins under Solskjaer than they did under Jose Mourinho before he was sacked this season.

Pogba continues to flourish

Paul Pogba’s brace ensured he moved into double figures for goals in league games for the first time in his career.

The Frenchman opened the scoring with a sensational first-time shot at the near post that Sergio Rico should have dealt with better.

He then guaranteed the victory with a composed penalty after Juan Mata was brought down inside the box. The Red Devils have now scored more goals from penalties than any other team in the Premier League this season.

United’s coaches are never content

Despite storming into a 2-0 lead after just 23 minutes, Solskjaer and his coaching staff were still not entirely happy with their tactical game plan.

Immediately after Martial’s goal hit the back of the net, Sky’s cameras panned to the United bench and there was Mike Phelan, Michael Carrick and Solskjaer discussing how to tinker their system.

Commentator Gary Neville hinted that they were trying to switch things around in the midfield in order to get a better grip on Fulham attacker Luciano Vietto.

Ranieri slammed over selection

There was fury among Fulham fans even before the game kicked off as Claudio Ranieri’s team selection failed to please the masses.

Supporters were perplexed at the decision to leave both Ryan Sessegnon and Tom Cairney on the bench and vented their anger on social media.

There were even cries of ‘You don’t know what you’re doing’ aimed at Ranieri from the stands as he brought on Cyrus Christie for Andre Schurrle in the 53rd minute.

United hit the front early

United had pretty much claimed the points inside 25 minutes and lightening quick starts have become a regular thing under Solskjaer.

After today’s double, 12 of United’s 27 goals under the Norwegian have come in the first 35 minutes of games.

It seems the caretaker boss has finally put an end to the pedestrian and sloppy opening exchanges that became so frequent under Jose Mourinho.

Mitrovic and De Gea clash

In the closing stages of the game it seemed the prospect of yet another humbling defeat seemed too much for fiery Fulham striker Alexander Mitrovic.

The Serbian striker clashed with Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea as the Spaniard attempted to pick up the ball inside the penalty area.

De Gea didn’t seem to appreciate Mitrovic’s unnecessary aggression as he stuck a foot in and then squared up to his opponent before Mitrovic responded with a few nudges of his own. Both were shown yellow cards.
