Betis have been looking for a new manager after sacking Rubi just three games into the restart of the La Liga season in June after the club were briefly flirting with relegation.

Betis currently sit 13th in La Liga following a difficult season and will be hoping Pellegrini’s experience will rejuvenate them next term.

Following the sacking of Rubi, Alexis Trujillo – a club icon who played nearly 300 games for Betis – was promoted from sporting co-ordinator and will remain in charge until the end of the season.

Pellegrini has been out of work since West Ham sacked the Chilean in December last year.
