Fiorentina ‘are monitoring Maurizio Sarri’s situation at Juventus’

Fiorentina are reportedly monitoring Maurizio Sarri’s situation at Juventus, with a view to offering the under-pressure manager a job in Florence should he part ways with the Serie A champions. 

Although top of Serie A by four points to Lazio, Juve have been underwhelming since the return of football following the coronavirus pandemic. 

They lost the Coppa Italia final to Napoli on penalties and with the future of current Fiorentina manager Beppe Iachini in doubt, the club’s president Rocco Commisso is keeping an eye on Sarri and his potential availability, according to Italian outlet Corriere Fiorentino, as reported by Football Italia.

The report details that Juve may consider going in a different direction next season with a new man in charge.

Though a ninth straight domestic title looks likely, the disappointment in the cup and a one-goal deficit in the last-16 of the Champions League against Lyon has cast doubt over Sarri’s position. 

As such, Commisso is reportedly ready to offer Sarri a job at Fiorentina, with the president having lofty ambitions for the Serie A club. 

Sarri only joined Juventus last summer after one season at Premier League side Chelsea.

He won the Europa League at the Blues – his first major trophy in management – after three years at Napoli, where he became a fans favourite. 

His Juventus side next face relegation-threatened Lecce at the Allianz Stadium on Friday night.   

On Tuesday, Sarri’s Juventus agreed a £72.5m fee with Barcelona to sign midfielder Arthur.
