Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has opened up on his love for fashion ‘flamboyance’ as he appears on the latest cover of GQ Hype magazine.

The 25-year-old has never shied away from bold new looks and working with stylist Harry Lambert has produced a number of eye-catching outfits in recent seasons.

His latest has seen him pull together a Bottega Veneta bouclé two-piece in denim, accompanied with a turquoise quilted-leather Chanel handbag, which he personally owns and costs around £3,900.

‘I am more than happy to be a standard-bearer for new flamboyance. Why not? You’ve only got one life,’ he told GQ Hype.

‘That’s one of my mottos. Do what makes you happy. For me, wearing clothes and suits that divide opinion is what I like doing, so I’m going to continue doing it.’

GQ Hype shows off Calvert-Lewin in a number of outfits, each amounting to thousands of pounds worth of clothes from brands such as Gucci, Prada, Dunhill, Bode and Loewe.

The England international footballer is a huge fan of fashion and has a collection of handbags - including this Chanel bag that is priced around £3,900

He has a growing bag collection and goes on to explain that he is guilty of sending himself bags from his home in Manchester whenever he is away,

Along with team-mate Tom Davies, England international Calvert-Lewin has established a reputation as one of the most forward-thinking footballers in the fashion world.

In 2021 the Everton forward appeared on the Winter/Spring 2022 cover of Arena Homme+, a biannual fashion magazine.

On that front cover Calvert-Lewin was seen wearing a short Prada suit and a pink Chanel handbag, again, one from his collection

The bold look drew some criticism but Calvert-Lewin is in a good place, even amid Everton’s struggles in the Premier League, and has called on critics to remember players are ‘human beings too’.

‘There are times when it can be overbearing (on social media),’ he added.

‘We might play football but we’re human beings too, and we’re open to a lot of criticism. Fortunately, I’ve got a loving family around me and a close-knit group of friends.

‘They’re the important people in my life who give me confidence and support me in every way possible.’

Footballers and fashion are increasingly going hand-in-hand.

In 2019, former Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin walked down the runway for Louis Vuitton at Paris Fashion Week.

Manchester United’s Jessie Lingard, 28, went a step further as he launched his own clothing label, J-Lingz, back in 2018.
