Eddie Howe has confirmed that Ryan Fraser has played his last game for Bournemouth

The Scottish international won’t play any part in Bournemouth’s two Premier League fixtures before his contract expires at the end of this month.

Bournemouth revealed this week that Fraser had rejected a contract extension until the end of the season and will leave the club on a free transfer on June 30.

He said on Friday: ‘I’ve enjoyed working with Ryan. When you look at his career it’s been one of progression and improvement. 

‘He didn’t deserve this ending. But circumstances have arose that made it happen. I’m sad for him. Now for it end the way it has, is uncomfortable for me’

Sportsmail understands Fraser has told his Bournemouth team-mates he sees Everton as his best option. 

The 26-year-old would rather not risk injury by playing beyond the end of his current deal, which expires at the end of this month. 

The Cherries confirmed on Wednesday that Simon Francis, Andrew Surman, Artur Boruc and Charlie Daniels had all agreed to stay for their final nine matches.

But Fraser’s seven-year stint at Bournemouth will now end as the club battles to avoid relegation.

In 208 appearances, Fraser has amassed 24 goals and 33 assists.
