Djibril Cisse has signed for American fourth-tier outfit Panathinaikos Chicago after nearly three years out of football.
The 39-year-old has been without a club since leaving Swiss third-division side Yverdon Sports in 2018.
But PAO Chicago announced the signing of the former Liverpool striker, the 13th club of his career, by posting on Twitter: ‘Once Green, Always Green.’

Cisse also played for Greek side Panathinaikos for two years between 2009 and 2011, scoring 47 goals in 61 games.
The Frenchman joined another six clubs – including QPR – after leaving the Greek giants before linking up with Yverdon.
He was also due to join AC Vicenza, now known as L.R Vicenza, after leaving the Swiss side but a move to the now Serie B outfit eventually fell through.
Cisse joined Liverpool from Ligue 1 side Auxerre for £14million in 2004, but a series of injuries including a broken leg restricted him to just 24 goals in 82 games.

Speaking last month, Cisse revealed he could have had his foot amputated had it not been for the medical staff’s quick thinking at Blackburn, where he suffered a double leg fracture.
‘I had a fracture and the bone snapped and came on top of the other. My blood circulation was not working and reaching my foot,’ he told talkSPORT.
‘The doctor said to me ‘I’m going to have to reduce the fracture’. I didn’t know what he was talking about so I just said ‘do what you’ve got to do’. He counted to three and pulled my leg.
‘Everything went fine and I think some months after I said ‘why did you do this?’. He said ‘your blood circulation at your foot was irrigated, I don’t know if this is the right word. He said after 30 minutes to an hour it would have to be amputated’. So thanks to the doc.’
The former Marseille and France striker has also delved into the fashion world recently, figuring in the final show of Jean-Paul Gaultier in Paris last year.
