Dillian Whyte is set to fight Dominic Breazeale after the WBC order an interim title in the heavyweight division.

Whyte has been waiting on news of a fight since talks between him and Anthony Joshua over a rematch collapsed.

With the heavyweight division waiting on the rematch of Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, the WBC moved to fill a void.

Breazeale welcomed a clash with Whyte earlier this month, saying he felt the fight would appease the boxing fans.

He said: ‘I hope he does make some type of deal with the PBC, if not some type of a deal with the personnel that’s around for me and him making a fight.

‘People have talked about it for a while. I am a fan-pleasing type of guy, so if that’s what the fans want to see, I’m all for it.

‘At the same time, I’m not going to pass up opportunities to fight for the WBC title, to go down there to fight Dillian Whyte. I hope he does make some type of a deal.

‘He can come here to the United States and he can get all he wants of Dominic Breazeale.’
