DigiYatra is contactless and enables seamless processing for passengers at airports, based on the use of single token face biometrics for verification of passengers is a significant project led by the government.

Hari Marar, MD & CEO at Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL) said: “The Digi Yatra Central Ecosystem implementation is one more step towards achieving this. We are glad to be part of the first phase rollout and value the trust reposed in us by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, DGCA, and the Government of India. As the new gateway to India, BLR Airport is keen to be at the forefront of change and innovation.

Also, passengers flying from Terminal 3 of the Delhi International Airport in India will henceforth go through passenger check processes without showing any paper-based documentation. Their face will be the pass for access into the airport, airport security areas and the boarding room using an automated facial recognition system. This follows the launch of the Beta version of the Digi Yatra app, an application based on facial recognition technology, which will be used by passengers flying into or out of the Delhi Airport.
