Arthur wants more money to accept swap deal from Barcelona to Juventus

Juventus and Barcelona are getting closer to reaching an agreement for the exchange between Arthur and Miralem Pjanic. 

According to Sky Sports, the Bosnian is valued at £63million by the Italian club, with the Italians having already agreed a £72.5m fee for Arthur.

However, the Brazilian is far from decided on the move and is trying to get a better deal from the Italian club, looking for a more lucrative contract in order to convince him to swap Barcelona for Turin.

While one of the players is yet to be convinced, the deal would make sense on the part of both clubs. Barcelona are desperately seeking an experienced head in the middle of the park, and in 30-year-old Pjanic they believe they have found a player that fits that billing.  

Juventus on the other hand are looking to add more young legs to their squad, and in the 23-year-old Brazilian have a target who they think will be able to slot right into Maurizio Sarri’s set-up. 

It is thought the Serie A leaders view him as the perfect player to run the show and his strong tactical intelligence is also cited as a massive plus point. 

Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic will head in the opposite direction and join Barcelona

Pjanic’s form at Juventus has dropped in recent times, and even though Arthur is pushing for further financial incentives, the club believe getting the Bosnian off their books will save them on wages.

That has prompted chief football officer Fabio Paratici to push for a positive conclusion to the deal. 

On the pitch, it is thought that Arthur, alongside Rodrigo Bentancur, would be one of the mainstays in a new 4-3-3 formation going forward.
