Arsenal are leading the race for Aaron Wan-Bissaka but must pay at least £40million if they are to sign the Crystal Palace defender.

The 21-year-old has produced some excellent performances for Palace this season and has attracted interest from high-profile clubs.

As reported by The Sun, Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has been impressed by Wan-Bissaka.

Everton are also interested in the England Under-21 international, while Manchester City and Bayern Munich have also been monitoring Wan-Bissaka.

Arsenal can already call upon Hector Bellerin, but their alternative options for the Spaniard, who is out with a long-term knee injury, leave a lot to be desired.

AARON WAN-BISSAKA’S RECORD THIS SEASON

Premier League: 25 appearances

Carabao Cup: Three appearances

Total: 28 appearances

Stephan Lichsteiner is 35 years old and has struggled to cope with the pace and intensity of the Premier League, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is better suited to playing in central-midfielder or as a winger and Carl Jenkinson has been used sparingly.

Wan-Bissaka broke into the Palace side in the second half of last season and has proceeded to make 35 appearances.

The defender missed Palace’s 4-1 victory over Leicester on Saturday due to injury.
