Showkutally Soodhun était récemment interviewé par la Saudi Gazette.
Si dans la presse mauricienne on le voit davantage pour ses affaires en cour, dans les médias saoudiens, Showkutally Soodhun on en fait un leader qui vante les mérites du prince et du Royaume. Pour ne pas changer…
Dans un article paru le mercredi 20 mars, la Saudi Gazette, reproduit ses propos tenus lors d’une récente visite en Arabie saoudite. «Le prince héritier a une voix importante dans la région et le monde plus largement. Il est sagace et visionnaire. Il est très respecté du peuple saoudien», a donc déclaré le député, président du Mouvement socialiste militant et ancien ministre, à ce journal. Il a vanté la «Vision 2030» du Royaume et les qualités du prince Muhammad Bin Salman, au «cœur de lion».
En VO c’est encore mieux : “We noticed tangible changes that will have a great impact not only on the Kingdom, but the entire region as well. The Kingdom is witnessing a real boom in economic and social spheres. (…) Not many individuals have the capability to take initiatives and work for the future. The crown prince is a dynamic youth who has a lion’s heart, the strength of a mountain and the potential for success. He will bring growth to the region. For the first time in 25 years, I notice strong changes that the people are happy with. This helps establish harmony and peace around the world, whether in Yemen, Egypt, Pakistan or India. He is exerting great efforts in many fields.”
Visiblement, Soodhun n’a pas entendu parler du massacre humanitaire au Yemen ni de l’assassinat du journaliste Jamal Khashoggi…
Il est ensuite revenu sur les relations «solides» entre Maurice et l’Arabie saoudite. A tel point que le prince Salman a joué “an important role in winning votes at the United Nations in favor of Mauritius in its sovereignty dispute with Britain over the Chagos Archipelago in Indian Ocean”.
Et, cerise sur le gâteau, Maurice va donner une «top» priorité aux Saoudiens qui veulent devenir propriétaires de terrains pour construire des maisons et des commerces.
