The current Milan sporting director is legendary former defender Paolo Maldini.

According to the Guardian, Rangnick, who has an impressive reputation after managing both Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig in Germany, will take over the coaching role this summer.

He has also been sporting director at both Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg, while he has had oversight of the Red Bull clubs since last summer in a role as head of sport and development.
