Sanchez told the Mirror: ‘Paul Pogba is still young, but he is a great player, who has to be trusted in the team.

‘Now I see him far more involved in the team and he’s playing well. There’s a great atmosphere at the club.’

The Red Devils have won eight of their nine league games under Solskjaer and Sanchez does not believe he has done it through pure luck.

‘About what happens inside the locker room, I never speak,’ Sanchez said. ‘People keep saying the way things have changed is like a miracle, but I do not believe in miracles.

‘I only believe in work and more work – and that’s what we’ve done.’

United sit in fourth place in the table having been 11 points off the Champions League spots when Mourinho was sacked in December.

The Portuguese boss did qualify for the last-16 of this year’s European competition and Sanchez believes United have a good chance of winning against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

Sanchez added: ‘United is a club with so much history and is capable of beating any rival.

‘If we win at Old Trafford and we don’t concede, then I think we would be favourites for the second leg.

‘I think we can do that and I see this United team with a lot of chances to score in Paris.’
