Social media accuses NFL superstar Tom Brady of FAKING glitzy drone footage

No longer satisfied with winning Super Bowls, schmoozing with his model wife, or waffling over retirement, Tom Brady found a new way to stop the internet in its tracks on Wednesday. 

The Buccaneers quarterback and seven-time NFL champion published a video of a stunning golf shot on social media on Wednesday which immediately saw sceptics among his 2.7million followers labelling the video as ‘fake’ and ‘clickbait’. 

Brady, who has been accused by his fans in the past of staging videos,  is stood on the fairway in this scene, before rifling a shot towards the pin before getting it to go straight in.

‘That’s looking good,’ Brady says, as he watches his shot. ‘That’s going in. That’s in!’ 

The Tampa QB immediately jumps around in a disbelieving celebration but fans of his found it difficult to believe, especially having watched the cinematography of the drone footage which made it appear too slick. 

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen quickly poured doubt on it, labelling it as ‘bulls***’, after Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes appeared to endorse Brady’s heroics.

‘Why does the GOAT feel the need to continuously put out fake, clickbait edits like this?’ one fan tweeted in reply. 

‘If LeBron tried pulling this type of stuff we’d never hear the end of it. Brady does it and it’s nothing but “Wowwww,” “Incredible,” “Goat things,” etc…’

Another unsure Twitter user wrote: ‘Alright, no more falling for fake Tom Brady viral videos. His video team is elite, but we’ve all seen him on the golf course before — he ain’t like this.’ 

‘It was a once-in-a-lifetime shot, that’s for sure,’ Brady insisted to the Athletic, claiming the shot was in fact real, but many fans are refusing to be convinced.

‘It’s not a hole-in-one, because it wasn’t really a par 3,’ Brady added to reporters on a Zoom call. 

‘We were in the middle of the fairway on a par 4, and I would have had to play the whole round for it to be a real hole-in-one. It was a once-in-a-lifetime shot, that’s for sure, but it wasn’t a hole-in-one unfortunately. I can’t claim that.’ 

While Brady hasn’t been drawn on criticisms against the shot, his social media team have certainly caused a debate, racking up 3.3million views and counting on the clip.

Immediately under the post were three tweets promoting merchandise that he was wearing in the video, drawing more suspicions around the truthfulness of his latest viral video. 

‘That’s supposed to be real? Even the celebration looked fake,’ writer David Zimmer tweeted. ‘Brady tries so hard (to sell merch). It’ll never work.’
