The Beatles once used the old gold tunnels under the now Adina Adelaide Treasury, to hide from adoring fans on their ‘64 Australian tour.

Coincidently, I was born in London in 64, far away from the Beatles’ problems in Adelaide. Let’s fast forward as a recent guest at the heritage restoration Adina Adelaide, where I surprisingly found no adoring fan’s insight.

Contently, I enjoyed the warmth of the staff upon arrival and the instant ambience of a heritage-build hotel. The walls spoke with character and oodles of history, whilst wooden floorboards talked of life before the trappings of fine accommodation, adding a little bit of hotel gold dust to the occasion.

Once housing the South Australian Governments Cabinet Room, the impressive sandstone exterior walls and wooden interiors hosted the administrative and government affairs for 130 years.

Today, the building lives large with a charming centre garden courtyard, bar and restaurant, and 79 guest rooms, including high ceilings and splendid character. Impressive studios, and one and two-bedroom apartments, are all well equipped with amenities, fully-equipped kitchens and free WiFi.

Adelaide continues to gain popularity with Australian and international tourists. Beyond the Adina, the city has a wealth of treasures, and easily accessible destinations, such as wineries, beaches, coastland and rivers. A few nights in town is an excellent stopover on your way to the famous Kangaroo Island.

Adina’s 43 apartment hotels worldwide are a great alternative to small hotel rooms and provide value for money. Size, living space and kitchen amenities give you the freedom to enjoy your own needs and home away from home living.

A Singapore Adina opens in 2022, and Switzerland will join their European family, adding to the current 17 different locations.
