Republic of Mauritius- Mauritius and Comoros to further consolidate regional ties

The Special Envoy of the President of Comoros, ​Mr. Mahmoud Soilih, made this statement, today, following a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, External Communications and National Development Unit, Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.

He spoke of the longstanding relationship between the Comoros and Mauritius and reiterated that both countries should work towards achieving mutual benefits and further consolidate the existing relations while charting the way forward. Mauritius, he said, is providing assistance and support to the people of Comoros with regard to health services and education and training facilities, which according to him, plays a key role in ensuring future development of the island.

Mr. Mahmoud Soilih invited the Prime Minister to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the re- elected President of Comoros, Mr Azali Assoumani, which is scheduled on 26 May 2019.
