General manager Okazaki Hiroyuki gives us a lowdown on what this means for the brand and Osaka.

TD: What does this opening mean for BWs expansion in Japan?

OH: This opening is very much in line with our development plan, which aims to offer
international standard service and facilities in great locations across Japan. We are delighted to open Best Western Plus Hotel Fino Osaka Kitahama, an impressive new hotel which commands a prime location in the centre of Osaka, one of Asia’s most important cities.

What is the target segment? Business or leisure?

The hotel is perfectly equipped to host business and leisure guests, so we are targeting both sectors. Our location in the financial district makes it perfect for business, while we are also positioned close to many of Osaka’s major attractions. In addition, the historic city of Kyoto is just 50 minutes away by train, and easily accessible from the hotel.

Is it popular with local Japanese travellers?

The area is popular for business travellers, so we will attract a large number of domestic
Japanese visitors. With our close proximity to the railway station, we are also an attractive option for international guests who want to explore Kyoto and other nearby cities by train.

What would you see as its USP?

The fact that we are a newly built property is a big plus, along with our highly accessible
location in Kitahama, close to the subway station. Our rooms feature a convenient mix of twin and double options, and our facilities include a fitness room, quiet area and lunch buffet.

How do you plan to enhance it for staycationers?

The hotel is located in the city centre, which makes it perfect for staycationers and guests on city breaks. We are also trying to develop amenities and conveniences to make Best Western Plus Hotel Fino Osaka Kitahama an appealing option for guests seeking a long and relaxing holiday.

We will reinforce the service quality of the Best Western BW Plus brand with the warmth and comfort of Japanese “omotenashi”, the authentic local culture of hospitality. The hotel invites guests to enjoy our unique lunch buffet and salad bar for just 1,500 yen per person.
