The sponsors are Airports of Mauritius Ltd, CIEL, ENL, Development Bank of Mauritius, Mauritius Ports Authority, Terra, Total and Winners. They are contributing Rs 1 million each.
Minister Toussaint expressed gratitude to the sponsors for their engagement in IOIG 2019 which demonstrates the commitment and patriotism of the companies towards the country.
Speaking on the construction of the Multisport Complex at Côte d’Or, he highlighted that the project is in line with Government’s vision of developing Mauritius as a sports hub and emphasised that this state-of-the-art sports infrastructure of international standards will enable the country host prestigious multisport events.
The complex, he said, is being constructed with the aim to promote a sporting culture in Mauritius as well to provide the appropriate environment for athletes to train for high-level sports competitions. He further underlined that it will comprise an aquatic centre, a multi-purpose gym, a football stadium as well as an athletic track. The Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’océan Indien, scheduled in 2021, will be held at the Côte d’Or Complex, he added.
