  • It comes just two months after he was filmed saying ‘f*** Brentford’ on holiday

Ivan Toney has again gone viral again for disparaging comments about his club, just two months after he was filmed saying ‘f*** Brentford‘.

The 26-year-old striker had to release a statement to apologise to fans, his manager and the club after the original video, which was filmed when he was on holiday during the winter break.

Toney has now been caught on camera speaking in his car with TikTok user ‘callmetoksy’, with the latest clip sure to upset Brentford fans and the club.

The short clip shows Toney discussing cryptocurrency with the person recording, who appears to be oblivious to who he is speaking to.

Toney tells the cameraman what he does for a living and confirms his name, which prompts the cameraman to ask which team he plays for.

The Brentford striker responds ‘nowhere exciting’ – a two word response which has sparked criticism on social media, with fans insisting he has been ‘disrespectful’ to the club.

After one person suggested Toney was being ‘modest,’ another Twitter user responded: ‘Calling the club you play for ‘nowhere exciting’ isn’t modesty, it’s total disrespect to the club you play for and who pays your wages.’

AFCJ21 commented: ’26 years old finally playing in the big boy leagues and he treats his club like that? Oof wouldn’t want him anywhere near the current Arsenal lot, he could learn a thing or two about humility from them before it ends badly at Brentford’.

A Brentford fan posted: ‘All our fans love him, I don’t know why he keeps saying things like this especially when he’s probably leaving in the summer.’

WARNING – STRONG LANGUAGE

Twitter user FunkSoulBrother wrote: ‘Score goals and keep us up, he can do what he wants. Clearly is going for the English Zlatan vibes.

‘Just hope when he’s finally got his big move he doesn’t flop.’

Casey Evans commented: ‘Ivan Toney’s like the guy who consistently complains about his job on social media when he knows he’s been followed by the company he works for.’

Another user wrote: ‘They gotta stop putting cameras in Ivan Toney’s face LOOOOL.’

SeanAFC also posted: ‘I’m sure he didn’t mean as it sounded, but came across as being very disrespectful to Brentford yet again.

‘Honestly wouldn’t care if he scored 20 goals a season if that’s how he talks about his club.’

Mark Robson wrote: ‘Personally I don’t think this is THAT bad. But I know a lot of Brentford fans will be mad as heck. Does a show a lack of loyalty and disrespect to the club.’

In January, Toney apologised after a social media video showed him using an expletive in reference to his own team.

Toney, who was on holiday with team-mate Bryan Mbeumo in Dubai when the video was recorded, can be seen saying ‘f*** Brentford’, repeating the phrase used by the woman who was filming.

Toney wrote on Twitter: ‘I am aware of a video of me that was published on social media today, taken in Dubai where I have been on holiday during the winter break. In it, I used language that was unacceptable.

‘The video was cut short and edited, but I have to accept the impact this has had and I realise I should not have put myself in that position.

Toney is Brentford’s top scorer this season with 13 goals in 28 games across all competitions

‘I have explained to the gaffer what happened and apologised to him but I also want to apologise to all Brentford fans. I respect the way you all support the team and I have to say how much I love playing for the club and for you.

‘I’ll be back at training next week, working hard to score more goals to win us more games for the rest of the season.’

The former Peterborough United frontman was vital in Brentford achieving promotion to the Premier League last season, scoring 33 goals in a spectacular campaign.

He has scored five goals this month to help Brentford to wins over Norwich and Burnley to boost their survival hopes.
