Scottish regional carrier Loganair has revealed it will be making changes to flights on its Aberdeen to Esbjerg service in a move to improve the schedule on the fledgling route, which is aimed at oil and gas industry customers, in a direct response to feedback from travel agents.

The changes show that while the Monday flight remains the same, the Esbjerg service moves to an afternoon schedule on the other four weekdays.

“Following feedback from our travel agent partners we decided changes were needed”

Flights will depart Aberdeen at 1410, arriving in Esbjerg at 1635, and return 1705 and arriving in Aberdeen at 1735, local time. A Sunday flight will also be added to the route from Aberdeen to Denmark’s fifth biggest city, with the same departure times as the Tuesday thru Friday service. The new schedule starts next month on 9 June.

Loganair commercial director Kay Ryan said: “Following feedback from our travel agent partners we decided changes were needed to improve the Aberdeen to Esbjerg service, and subsequently we will be adjusting our schedule on the route from mid-June. We have a competitor on the route, but the April statistics show that 63% of customers between the two cities chose to fly with Loganair and only 37% with the other operator.”

Ryan went on to add: “We are grateful for the support we have received so far, and the new schedule will allow our customers returning into Esbjerg from offshore helicopter links to fly back to Aberdeen on the same day, rather than having to wait overnight or taking a longer evening flight home via Amsterdam.”

As a result of the new Esbjerg schedule and as part of ongoing route evaluation, Loganair also announced that it would be closing its Aberdeen to Oslo route from 7 June. Lead-in fares between Aberdeen and Esbjerg start at GBP 48 to Esbjerg.
