NIA recently arrested a 29-year-old Palakkad-based youth named Riyas Aboobacker who was suspected to have links with the terrorist organization ISIS. The NIA in one way averted a terror attack by arresting this ISIS suspect because he was conspiring to commit a terror attack similar to the one carried out in Sri Lanka which killed over 200 people.
