Three Manchester United fans are hurt in Gdansk as a mob of Polish football hooligans dressed in black ambush the bar where they were drinking ahead of the Europa League final

Three Manchester United fans were hurt after they were attacked by Lechia Gdansk supporters in the Polish city before the Europa League final.

United confirmed that they are helping the victims of the unprovoked incident at a city centre bar including the three who suffered minor injuries.

Video on social media showed a mob of Lechia fans dressed in black attacking the outside seating area of the Fahrenheit Club and Restaurant late on Tuesday night. 

Earlier footage had shown United fans chanting and drinking in the venue ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s first ever final as a United manager.

The damage caused to the bar was also visible

A group of hooligans dressed in black and wearing hoods left three fans injured and considerable damage to the bar 

The Norwegian head coach’s side face Villarreal at the Gdansk stadium on Wednesday evening.

A total of 9,500 spectators will attend the game including 2,000 from each finalist. Half of United’s contingent are due to arrive in the Baltic seaport on Wednesday, with Wayne Rooney understood to be among fans flying out for the clash.

It’s understood a further 500 tickets have been purchased by United fans living in Poland.

United issued a statement saying: ‘Club staff were assisting a number of United fans in Gdansk last night and today after an incident where some of our supporters were attacked outside a bar in the city.’
