Ander Herrera has praised his Manchester United team-mate Marcus Rashford and claimed that the attacker ‘will be unstoppable’.

Rashford has been hugely impressive since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as caretaker manager and has mustered eight goals in his last 13 games.

The England international is capable of performing effectively whether deployed up front or out wide, and Herrera described Rashford’s style as unique.

Herrera told ESPN: ‘He’s different. We know at the moment there are some fantastic wingers in modern football: Ousmane Dembele, Raheem Sterling, Anthony Martial, Eden Hazard – but Marcus is different.

‘Marcus can shoot, he can play one-against-one, but he also has the quality to combine and not lose the ball for the team.’

Herrera is adamant that Rashford is already ‘a top, top, top player’, but insisted that he is still capable of improving even further.

Herrera said: ‘I couldn’t name another player that reminds me of Marcus Rashford. I think he’s already a top, top, top player, but I think he will improve.

‘With time, [improvements] in his decision making, and he will be unstoppable.’

MARCUS RASHFORD’S RECORD THIS SEASON

Premier League: 22 games, nine goals, seven assists

Champions League: Six games, one goal

FA Cup: Two games

Total: 30 games, ten goals, seven assists

Rashford endured some frustrating games under the management of Jose Mourinho, but the 21-year-old has been afforded much freedom under Solskjaer and is reaping the benefits.

The quality of Rashford’s recent performances was recognised this week when he was crowned the Premier League player of the month for January.

With Rashford in such a rich vein of form, United will be hopeful of securing a top four finish in the Premier League this season.

Solskjaer’s side are currently in fifth place in the table, two points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea.

United face struggling Fulham away on Saturday in a game that could see Rashford presented with numerous opportunities to add to his goal tally.
