The reopening of the borders will be done in three phases, announced the Prime Minister, Pravind Jugnauth, during his message to the nation this Monday evening, August 31.
The first phase concerns the repatriation flights which will continue until September 30. Mauritians, who return to the country, will be placed in quarantine as has been the case since the appearance of the new coronavirus in Mauritius.
The second phase, meanwhile, will be from October 1. From that date, says Pravind Jugnauth, there will be more flights organized to certain destinations. Those interested will be able to book their plane tickets and make their hotel reservations online.
The third phase will consist of reopening the borders. However, the Prime Minister clarified that it will depend on the Covid-19 situation in Mauritius and in the world.
